You can save precious time if you automate repetitive tasks. Certain operations, like backing up files, scanning the hard drive or others, can be performed automatically by the computer. FileSavvy can help you automate any action that involves managing files. The best part is that you can do this by drawing a chart, which makes it easy to visualize even the most complex operations.

The software is free, but you still have to activate the product, by requesting a license key on the developer's website. Downloading and installing FileSavvy does not take more than a minute. You can run the program on any modern Windows platform, without affecting your computer's performance.

FileSavvy's user interface consists of a blank canvas, options for various actions and a properties panel, on which you may configure the actions. To set up an operation, you must click and drag the presented options from the toolbar to the blank canvas. Inserted items appear as icons, which can be moved anywhere in the editing area.

If you select two or more inserted items, you may click certain options, on the same toolbar, to establish an action between the items, like copying or moving. For example, if you wish to download something from the Internet, you have to insert a "web download" item and a file, after which you must select both items and click the Copy option, located on the toolbar. This will create a green arrow between the items, which means that FileSavvy will download an item and store it in a file.

Important configurations can be made for the selected items on a properties panel, in the lower left area of the interface. You can specify what contents to download, by selecting the "web download" icon and pasting the corresponding URL on the properties panel. Furthermore, you must select the "file" item and type in a name and path for the downloaded file.

You can prepare other actions as well, like moving the file to a folder, adding it to an archive and much more. If your own operation is more complex, you can prioritize copying or moving options, by selecting their corresponding arrows and assigning an order number on the properties panel. When your configurations are complete, you just need to click a Play button and the software will execute all actions in order.

Pros

You can automate various operations, by creating a chart. Everything can be done by clicking and dragging and making a few simple specifications.

Cons

You need to experiment with the software until you can figure out how to use it. Thanks to FileSavvy's unique functionality, automating complex operations can be done in a matter of minutes.
